  1. What is your role at Nintex?

I am a senior engineer and my role is to develop and maintain Nintex K2 capabilities.

  1. Tell us a little bit about how you ended up at Nintex?

I joined after Nintex acquired K2 in October of 2020.

  1. What has been your favorite project of your career?

My favorite project was working with First National Bank to digitize a will drafting process. The best part for me was learning exciting new technologies like Angular and .NET Core (when it was still at its inception). I worked on the project from conceptualization to final go-live so it was rewarding to see everything come to fruition.

  1. What does an ideal day-off of work look like for you?

I’m not a person who enjoys going out a lot. I enjoy being at home either following tutorials or catching up on the latest television series. Recently I adopted mountain biking as a sport and that forms part of what I do in my spare time nowadays.

  1. Where is home for you?

Home is where my late mom used to stay – Durban, South Africa. Even though I like to believe that I made my own home here in Johannesburg, nothing beats a visit to Durban from time to time.

  1. What is the best part about where you live right now?

It’s the people—I think—more than anything. South Africa is a country with a rich culture. People here embrace each other – which gives you that comfort of being home even when you’re away from home.

  1. What is your favorite food?

It’s sugar beans stew and steamed bread.

  1. How do you define success?

To me, success is doing something you love and enjoy doing, while changing the world for the better.

  1. If you could have dinner with one person who and why?

My late mom, the woman who carried me through poverty and taught me so many things that make me who I am today. No matter how many times I could thank her, it would never be enough.

  1. What do you like most about your job?

The inventive aspect. There’s something so fascinating to witness when a new capability transforms from ideology to conception to realization. I love knowing that I helped someone with a capability that I built.

  1. What does a typical day look like for you?

Now that I’m working remotely, I start my mornings getting my son ready for school and after I drop him off, I start my work day. I begin my day “crunching code” (aka: programming software). Then after some morning meetings I write more code before I pick my son up from school. Of course in between all of thate there’s usually some code reviews, quality assurance work and anything else that pops up.

  1. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself with Nintex, as excited as I am right now and of course my role and responsibilities would’ve increased in scope two or more levels by then.

  1. You win a trip anywhere on a private jet. Where are you going and who is coming with you?

I’d say Las Vegas, with my fiancé and son.

  1. What is your favorite outdoor activity?

At the moment, I’m really enjoying mountain biking.

  1. What would you like to be famous for?

I’d like to be known for being a man of integrity and dedication.
